The youth especially young women constitute the most important human resource potential that can contribute significantly to the overall development of a nation. About 80% of young teenage single mothers in the targeted communities are unemployed and 50% face poverty in these deprived communities with no sustainable or profitable skill and no education, these young women are left at the mercy of petty trading or men, a wider picture of the future of these young women look very dark without intervention. Children born out of this situation turns out to be street children with no/low education, hidden talent and a very dark future. Current enrolment without support into vocational, technical or commercial education remains infections contracted from the
regrettably very low since such schools require much investment in equipment and other infrastructure which means no hope in sight for the underprivileged. Under the Sustainable Development Goals’ (SDGs) slogan of “Leaving No One Behind”, it is necessary to turn at tent ion to this issue in creating a sustainable source of income for these young women and achieving the SDGs.
Head porters (kayayes) are among the most vulnerable groups in Ghana and mostly are unable to observe menstrual hygiene management because they do not have knowledge on the subject and they also cannot afford sanitary pads for their monthly periods. Period poverty is not alien to teenage students as well therefore there is the need to reachout to girls in selected senior high schools. Period poverty of teenagers leads them to using unhygienic materials that are unable to absorb the flow and the effects of this is both psychological and physical.

unhygienic materials while enduring the fact that they sometimes soil themselves in public. Our need assessments in some deprived suburbs in Accra also discovered that about 52 % of school going children in such communities have lost
interest in education therefore are okay doing petty jobs by skipping school regularly, this is due to poverty because they mostly lack educational materials and the motivation to stay in school. This phenomenon influences other children in such areas to toe the line thereby slowly neglecting their education which ultimately in most cases lead to societal deviance thus criminal activities increases. It is expedient to advance a sustainable solution to the menace before it gets out of hand.
Maximum Joy Foundation is a Non – Governmental Organization located in Ghana with three major objectives.
To help teenage single mothers acquire vocational skills training in order to become self-sufficient (training such as soap & other detergents making, bead and fabrics accessories making, hairdressing, fashion designing, catering, etc.)
Provide Sanitary care for teenage girls in High school, Hawkers and kayeyees ( Head Potters). Help Street children identify their talents and improve upon it. We do this through our yearly programme dubbed “fun for kids”. At this programme we organize sports tournament and in the process, we give away

To achieve 95% training and skills development for teenage single mothers with desired vocation interest by the end of each project
To eradicate the unhygienic sanitary conditions for selected girls in high schools, hawkers and Kayayes during the project.
To reduce the percentage of the street children by 10% through sports, education and skills identification
